My hopes of Contemplation for the people and a messy picture

How are you holding up? And what have you been up to?
Spring cleaning your home? šŸ§½
Spending quality time with your loved ones? šŸ„°
Or missing them like crazy, because you canā€™t see them? 

Iā€™ve been contemplating - well that is not new - I do that all the time - now also for other people šŸ˜‰
Hoping this current situation, where many of us are ā€˜forcedā€™ to be at home or have limited tasks/work outside the house, is that this BIG BREAK or pause, the whole world is taking right now, will give many people room and time to contemplate, about the way their life is structured, about the way they take care of themselves and each other.
My thoughts have been circling around one specific area in particular, which I really hope will give some perspective on how (many) people, have put WORK over the care of themseves and their family (and those around them). And by care I mean; health, wellbeing and loveā£ļø

I want to paint you a picture - it might not be a beautiful picture, cause well, this is my stream of thoughts and they can be messy, direct and honest - filter free. So as you read through them, if you feel trickered, know that you have stuff to work with (as do I). You can feel free to comment and leave your contemplation thoughts below -all is welcome ā¤

This contemplation comes after almost 10 years of motherhood on my resumĆ© + even more as a teacher of the body. It comes from my observations around my life in Copenhagen, in Denmark and what I see and experience in the world of priorities. Shutting down the signals your body is giving you, the signals your children or loved ones are giving you, so you can GO ON, go to work, do what you ā€œare meant toā€. And not taking time to listen, and take care of yourself and thereby othersā€¦

Picture this:

Your child has been sick with fever/influenza/something for 4 days, he/she is FINALLY ā€œover itā€, because body temperature is normal, and he seams fine [how many times have you used that frace when you where not?]ā€¦ Oooookay he might be a little snotty, but who isnā€™t? And you have just had to take 4 days off work [4 DAYS!] , and NEED to get back to work [you know that place that looks you in the eyes every day and tell you ā€˜I love you!ā€™ Sorry this is my sarcastic bitching]. So you drop your child of at daycare/school, cause heā€™s fine right? 

Weeeeell, NO not really!! The child needs to be taken CARE of by his parent(s), until he is completely recovered, and that is not just one/two days after fever/symptoms are over - it might be 3/4/5/many days after, until both body, heart and mind is fully recovered from illness!
In those days after an illness or any case of not feeling good - it is crucial to be taken care off, held, pampered, listened to and just being able to not have to DO anything, or to many impressions. Being around those who love you most (hopefully that is the parents for most people right?) is the best care you can give ā€¦

BUT HEY, donā€™t feel bad!! How are you supposed to know? Cause every time you, yourself, are feeling a little off, coughing or feeling a cold coming up, [or you have a heartbreak or someone close to you died!!] YOU go to work -because you are not really sick are you? Work NEEDS you [right?]!
So you do a block from the signals your body is giving you to relax, rest, take care of yourself. So you can go ā€œpreformā€, over at that sacred place that always makes you FEEL better: WORK ā€¦

Deep breath - BIG PAUSE - to contemplate ā€¦

What if you, all of us, learned to listen to the signals our body gives us every day? That way we could easily learn to see them in others too.

What if this precious time you are given right now, a Corona-time-out, it that big wake-up call to notice what is truly important in this lifetime? What if you can contemplate;
The LOVE you have to yourself and your body, how important that is!!?!!
What about the wellbeing of the people you LOVE? The wellbeing of the earth and our collective whole?
How could you ever prioritize work over the the wellbeing of your child?

Being able to, and prioritizing, taking care of yourself and thereby others (remember you canā€™t give from an empty cup), is crucial for ALL of us.
Let this be an awakening, a big pause of remembering, how many times you have shot off your bodys signals. Let it be an awakening to turn ON the signals; LISTEN and FEEL. Your Heart and body NEEDS YOU to pay attention.
And I bet you, if all of us do it, as a collective, the world we return to post quarantine, will be much different, in a loving, beautiful and healthy way ā¤
